VISTA: Access Denied to Partition

Just installed vista business on my machine, with one HDD that has two partitions. My D partition is now unaccessible. It says

D: is not accessible.
Access is denied.

When I go into my computer>manage>disk manager, it has all the information there, i.e. correct amount of data and free space, but I can't get to it. What do I do?

I suspect is it NTFS and tagged with specific user rights. I had Vista pop this warning recovering a partition for a user in XP (myself). Since I was an admin, it then prompted me if I wanted to change the permissions. If you are not logged on as an admin, it will not prompt you.

Hmm, I'm logged in as an admin though. Lemme try mechBgon's method.


EDIT: NM, I did his method last night actually, before posting because I scanned the first page, and I guess it needed to reboot lol. Works fine now. Thanks yall.

Man, this really sucks. I did mechBgon's method on the entire partition, but then it makes me go into each folder and do it for each subfolder and each item in the folder. WTF?

I did go to the top and make sure I selected each folder, subfolder, and item, but it still doesn't work. This really sucks. Is there a workaround?

Oh and some of my programs aren't allowed access to some files even though I've allowed full access to admins and system.

Did you allow full access for the Users group, though? If not, try that next. Also remember there's a checkbox for the subfolders: pic, it's in the red circle :camera:
