Vista 64bit install - unexpected error encountered

Maybe someone can help me with my problem here.

System:
Intel E6600
EVGA 680i Motherboard
4 GB Corsair Ballistix Memory
8800GTX Graphics Card
Creative Xi-fi ExtremeMusic Card
3 Hard Drives
2 - 36GB SATA in raid
1 - 150gb SATA

I amusing the raid hard drives for the install.

Installing Vista 64-bit

I reformated my HD, and booted Vista from the CD. I followed all the steps, as normal. Yet every time i get to the end of the installation, it says the same thing : "The Computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click 'ok' to restart the application and then restart the installation". I have tried doing this a few times, and it keeps saying the same thing.

I also removed the Xi-fi card and 2 GB of memory, but get the same message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have 4 1GB sticks of ram try just using 2, that chipset has problems when all ram slots are populated.

Go to eVGA and download the latest bios then burn iso to a cdrom
Then install the latest bios to the mobo
then...
Do the following...
1) Temporarily remove 2gb out of 4gb from the rig.
2) Down load this 4gb fix by using another computer
kb929777
3) Reboot.
4) Re-install Vista from ground zero or scratch
5) When sucessfully installed Vista, install the hot-fix.
6) Power down the rig.
7) Re-install 2gb back to the mobo to make it 4gb
8) Reboot

Happy Vista 64!

Note: Your rig spec almost mimics mine (#2) except you get the higher end mobo & g/c
