Vista 64 today's updates

KB937287 keeps popping up asking to be installed. I've said OK 4 times and have 4 installations but like the Energizer Bunny, it keeps going and going and going.

It's an update that can't be removed according to Microsoft. It doesn't show up in Installed Updates. The only way I know for sure there are 4 instances of it is that during the install itself, if I click View Update History, it's there 4 times.

All installations show successful. Rebooting doesn't help. It still pops up wanting to be installed again.

Google shows this to be a common problem and there are references to SP1, but I have neither installed nor even downloaded SP1.

Help?

I just restored from an Image made yesterday. Vista just pulled in all those updates and for now, I'm going to install all but the problem child.

Nice to know I'm not alone. 🙂

Shame on MS.
You'd think they'd have tested these updates first prior releasing to the common public.
I can wait until MS has cleared the bug.

Misery loves company

I am now restoring the system to "Before Updates" and will try to install everything "but".

Then we will see if it installs or not.

BTW, no problem on my Vista HP 32-bit laptop.

Maybe they relesed a 32-bit version of this particular update for 64-bit systems... 😉

Same problem here. I thought it would go away if I restarted again, but it's still there after checking for updates again.

Oh well, I don't think it's a big deal

I posted a fix in a different thread, anyway the fix is here .

Btw the fix above is working fine on my Vista x64,so this fix is Mem approved 😉.
