I have moved to Vista 64 and am looking for a new sound card.

Want to listen to music on my powered studio monitors, and play games with high-end headphones.

I would like to find a card with the following (all under Vista 64 sp1):
  • * High-quality sound (no noise, pops on startup, or any of that)
    * Leading 3D game support
    * 3D Sound Emulation via Stereo Headphones
    * Rock Solid Vista 64 Drivers
I initially figured my best bet might be the SB X-Fi Titanium, but after reading some reviews/ comments I am wondering are there any other viable options.

Do you guys know of other cards that have the features I am looking for?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

3D-sound effects in Vista with good Vista drivers and you've considered Creative? You're out of luck in that category.

Get the X-Fi (hardware based, not that damn XtremeAudio). The X-Fi is well, well ahead of anyone else when it comes to the HRTF technology necessary for 3D sound via headphones. It's rather sad really, no one else seems to give a damn about headphones users.

Isnt EAX broken while using creative cards in vista 64?
I thought the Asus Xonar is the only current card which supports EAX so far through some type of software emulation.

I'm using the card in my signature on Vista x64 without any problems.

A few games can't seem to run EAX effects, but everything else seems to be fine. Sound quality is great, and I haven't seen any crashes.

What CurseTheSky said. There are very few older games that Alchemy won't solve.
