VISTA 64 Media Center Setup . . .

I'm not sure of the precise sequence of events that causes this, but I've noticed that either running MC, turning it off and starting it up again -- or -- rebooting the system -- causes my 5.1 speaker setup as configured in Media Center to revert to a single speaker configuration. That is, the only sound comes from the center speaker.

Anyone else have trouble with this?

I'm using a Creative Labs X-Fi (PCI version) Fatal1ty sound card.

Did you go to the control panel(audio) and set up your speakers? I have the same card (mine is pci-e) and I dont have that problem running a 7.1 set up. You might have to use the program that came with your sound card.

Yeah -- getting old -- the "complexities" are getting the best of me, and since I'd only installed VISTA-64 on this system a couple months ago, thought I'd check the Creative Audio Control Panel.

But I hadn't overlooked it -- it's properly configured for 5.1.

I'll probably try and do some more searches to see if someone else had this problem elsewhere. Otherwise, it's just a nuisance going into Media Center Setup and following the three-step/three-mouse-click sequence to get it to work properly each time I open media center.
