I've worked on this for two nights and have yet to crack what the problem is so I was hoping some of you could.

I am using the: ASUS M3a32-MVP Deluxe Series MB

I have two Raptor in Raid 0 that are being recognized by the AMD Fastdrive bios program that is showing as functional"

When I get to the part of Vista Installation (Vista Ultimate 64-bit) that requires to select the drive I wish to install the computer does not recognize my RAID 0 Raptors or my Single Seagate Barracuda Drive.

I have looked around for any utility, drive, etc for the Raptors. The information I am gathering is the Vista on the drivers is "plug-n-play" and as such should be recognized by the installation. I have downloaded WD's installation CD and attempted to boot using a XP partition (no clue why, desperation) and to no luck (fixed them back to being normal now).

I am nearing the point of dishing out serious cash for the OS to be installed by someone, no joke. My eight previous XP computers were no problem, but this is turning out to be worst than my liquid cooling installations in terms of grind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I just have not been able to find the silver bullet yet to fix this problem.

Note: If we could not use floppy drive on any fixes I would appreciate it, but if it is needed I'll buy that too. I transfered over Nero from my old comp to my g/f's notebook so I can make ISO drives (I cannot find my thumbdrive for the life of me, but would rather buy that then floppy)

HELP!!

PS: I fully expect this to wind up being a silly oversight and for this to be a laugh, look at that bonehead mistake moment =)

you can use a usb key for vista drivers instead of a floppy, asus has vista raid drivers for vista 64 for that motherboard on their site, it can not hurt to download those, copy to a usb key and have vista search it.

I don't understand why vista is not finding your seagate drive as vista can natively recognize sata drives and it shouldn't be an issue (unless you have that on one of the marvel sata connectors as those may need a separate driver to work).

Nope all three HDs are on the SB600 chipset RAID connections, themarvell is being used for e-SATA connection.

For the OS to recognize the RAID drives, you will have to install the RAID driver during Vista Installation. As mentioned, you can just use a thumbdrive (or the CD that came with the RAID controller or mobo, although it would be better you just copy the drivers on a separate CD since most mobo or RAID CD drivers got the drivers embedded deep in the root directory). This should fix your problem. Remember, you need to setup your RAID during boot up under the RAID bios.
