Vista 64 B-SP1

I've been running vista now for about a week. Overall I like it, but have a 3 things I'd like to work with.

1st: I liked several of the appearances for some of the menus and such as they were in XP than vista. Just selecting classic view doesn't really recreate the look. Is there any way to adjust this?

2nd: Is there a good site to read up about on tweaking vista? Internet browsing definitely seems slower now and I'm sure there are probably settings I haven't looked into yet.

3rd: Vista search blows chunks compared to XP, also the old explorer seems to have been dumbed down.

Vista should not be "tweaked" too much, you'll likely do more harm than good. Just like stash said so well, it runs great right out of the box, just set it and forget it.

I guess you can try WindowsBlinds ,personally I think classic looks looks ugly and dated now ,but each to their own as they say.

Should not have to tweak anything there,I prefer to use Firefox( using 32 bit version on my Vista x64,however I hear Firefox 3 RC build is very fast)) I just made sure I got latest Java, flashplayer etc...

Search index in Vista is way better then XP so can't help you there if you think thats not the case.

When vista can't find a folder/file when I enter part of the name without without resorting to using *** also, it sucks.

Why is browsing in IE slower on vista than xp? Particularly bad are iamge download times, even from simple places like the CNN homepage.

I dont know man it doesnt sound like the vista64 I use. Youre probably going through the learning phase. I promise once you start learning how things are set up, and your box gets indexed, you wont go back to XP ever again. Xp really does suck.

Wow you guys I prefered XP on a desktop administration level...but Vista is not too different. Everything is the same except for a few bells and whistles

It's all good
