Vista 64 and UT 99?

I was wondering if Vista 64 will run Unreal tournament 99. Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks.

One tip I can give you if you use an Audigy or X-FI card is use the Alchemy wrapper, the sound is so much better via Alchemy then the default software sound with UT.

I'm using the free universal Alchemy wrapper for my Audigy 4.

Or he can use the OpenAL driver for UT (from oldunreal.com)...provides true 5.1 sound with no need for Alchemy. I've been using it since it was released a few years back and it's pretty awesome.

And I myself also run both Unreal (the original, of course) and UT99 on Vista 64 with no problems.

Edit: You also will probably have to make sure Vsync is on since the Unreal engine has massive timing problems once you're over about 200fps (which is not that hard to hit these days). And perhaps set the affinity to a single core if you still have timing problems after that. But those aren't Vista-specific problems either, I had to do the same thing when I was still running XP...

Vista has better dual core support etc..then XP ,hence no need for the AMD optimizer or AMD dual core driver like you do with XP,personally I use AMD dual core CPU and never had any issues with UT or any game that was dual core specific when using Vista.

I know that's what they say, but it's not true in all cases. I just ran Unreal (not through my usual shortcut that sets its affinity to one core), and the speed was highly erratic and jumpy even with Vsync on. So, it's worth mentioning.

I also have an A64 X2 and Unreal/UT are the only games with problems like that.
