Vista 64 and burning dvd problems

Hi guys,

I installed Vista 64 a few days ago and I am having some problems burning dvds... I was wondering if you encountered the same problem.

My setup is:
DFI Ultra-D NF4
Amd X2 3800+
2gb OCZ Platinum DDR
1 WDC raptor 150gb
2 WDC 320gb drive in Raid-1
1 DVD burner - pioneer 111d

I used the latest nforce drivers 16.08 and everything seems to be stable. But for some reason, I cant burn my dvds at 16x like I used to.... it is more like 8x. Also, burns will often fail to verify.

no idea, i switched to 64-bit vista from 32-bit without any issues.
my specs:
intel 965 chipset
pioneer dvr-212d dvd writer SATA
set to AHCI

What are you using for burning software?..I know both latest Nero 7/8 work fine with Vista x64 as well as Ashampoo Burning Studio 7 .


All I can suggest is you try different DVD brand/discs and update your firmware on your burner,maybe try different software?

I used nero 7 and 8 and ashampoo... but they are all giving me problems... maybe it is a drivers problem with the NF4 chipset...

I thought latest was 15.01 drivers at Nvidia's website for chipset drivers for NF4?

I'm using the 15.01s with my NF4 ultra board and have no problems with burning etc..always does a good burn everytime,this is with nero 7 and Vista x64.
 
nVidia has released nForce drivers 16.08 WHQL for XP and Vista in the 32 and 64-bit varieties. These are intended for the new Intel IGP chipsets, but may work on other boards with some INF modification.

Think I stick with the safe official 15.01s 😉,which are still showing as the latest at their site for NF4.
