Vista 64 and a sudden network problem

Had it up and running for a day since the install with multiple reboots and it working fine and then this morning i install deamon tools and it asks for a reboot to finish i say yes and since the reboot i have not been able to get a connection.

i am on a college campus and we do use authentication/pc registration software that works by mac address but if there was a problem it would have popped up immediately not 12 hours after the fact.

any idea at what might be causing the issue?
 
Did you try uninstalling Dameon tools, or rollback to an earlier restore point,also there is a repair option in Vista too (on the DVD disc).
 
yes i did, in fact i formated and still the same problem. i believe now the problem is with a server here on campus being down rather than hopefully with my pc
