Note: All-in-Wonder? boards operate with AMD Windows Vista-Ready Display Drivers under the Windows Vista Operating System. However there is currently no software application which provides TV/Capture functionality for All-in-Wonder? boards under Windows Vista.

Link.

As to Creative Labs, their forums are suggesting official drivers around March 9th.

Here is an intersting article that sheds a little more light on the issue.

Due to an architectural issue in Vista, TV/Capture functionality is not supported in Windows Vista Media Center (and all other applications that run as a service). As a result, we have not been able to qualify a WDM capture driver for All-in-Wonder products under Vista.

We are working hard with 3rd party software vendors to ensure compatibility with All-In-Wonder products. Snapstream, for example, will shortly release a version of BeyondTV for Vista that works with All-In-Wonder. The current POR is to use this application to qualify the All-In-Wonder capture driver.

.

So, basically it appears that users must wait for Snapstream to finish the app, so that AMD can use it to qualify the Vista WDM drivers. Yikes!

Probably should have kept MMC alive if for no other reason than to qualify WDM drivers for AIW Vista Capture support.

What I'd like to know is whether AMD/ATI is going to give copies of SnapStream BeyondTV to current AIW owners for free.

It's very frustrating to discover that my AIW x1900 is (currently at least) architecturally incapable of running properly on Windows Vista. It's not clear whether the AIW cards will EVER run with MCE. You'd think AMD/ATI would've had the decency of letting new purchasers know about this.

But then again, I heard that they're discontinuing AIW cards, so I'm not very optimistic about our prospects for future support.
