Stay at the Jane - Its $129 I think for two people.

Or Hotwire or Priceline it. Much cheaper and usually better hotels.

Since you are driving - where do you plan on parking your car - the hotel will charge you $35 a day to park.

For your 5* meal - I've always wanted to eat at Marea and have their $100 five course meal - but so many damn good choices.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Really looking forward to it, but the enormity of the city and everything involved in planning the trip is a bit stressful. I'll answer some of the questions.

If they are willing to share a bed (OP didnt say if that was going to happen)
We most likely will to save money, we'll be hammered each night so I could easily end up sleeping on the floor or wherever, lol.

For the most part, you can walk into almost any (non chain) pizza place and the pizza should be pretty darn good.

Interesting, ok I'll probably just hit up any non chain joint I find, thanks.

Do you have anything in particular in mind?

We like just about anything other than seafood. We're big on steaks and Italian food, although we'd rather not stuff ourselves on Italian and feel bloated all night.

We're stressing over the hotel. He booked one on his iPhone BookIt app for like $569 for 3 nights, it's called the Seton. He can cancel anytime though....so we're still trying to figure that part out.

I went to NYC a few months ago, had a blast. Look for my thread with a lot of good suggestions from NYers and surrounding area folks.

Check out the Top of the Rock <nears Rockerfeller Center>, it was very cool to see NYC from up high.

Good luck with the hotel cost, yike!!!

Stayed at the Hilton at Times Square some time ago. NYC is an awesome place. You could just wander around the streets for hours looking around. I couldn't believe all the celebs I saw just wandering around :)
