I'm a noob to these forums so first I'd like to say Hi. I had a PCConnection.com order for an ATI X800 XT PE
that I placed on 7/13/04 that I've now cancelled. Over the weekend, I just happened to check ComUSA's website(I live in a suburb of Dallas TX) and of course like always all the 5 CompUSA s are out of stock.
I then just thought how far I'd be willing to drive and I punched in a Lewisville, TX zip code 75067 and guess what...THEY HAVE IT IN STOCK!
The catch is that it is In-Store Pick-Up ONLY! So no deliveries you have to place an order thru their website with credit card and then drive to their store and then actually purchase the sucker with the same credit card within 3 days or they will re-shelf it.
Lewisville is north of the D/FW airport and CompUSA only has the one store in that city. I drove a total of 76 miles to get this video card (38 miles there and 38 miles back) and to me that beats waiting till late September or middle October!
And if i didn't mention price is 499.99 + 8% sales tax = $539.99 total
