you're in the US, you've the opportunity to get GTS-V for $70 now, don't consider any GF2MX thing unless you must have tv-out.

I just replaced my Visiontek Gf2 GTS with a Radeon 8500. I only used it for about a month while I was waiting for the Radeon, but it was an unbelieveable value for the price, $65 or $70, I forget. My son does more FPS playing than I do and he was blown away by it. Don't forget you can download NVmax to OC it.

that was an unwise decision for one named confucious ;) I'll be receiving my Xtasy GTS-V from Newegg tomorrow :) Send the other one back (if it already shipped) and get the Xtasy or you'll be unhappy with your decision and it'll keep eating at you.

Okay, thanks everyone i'll be returning it back. I hope I don't have to pay a 15% restocking fee for the exchange. :(

I get higher scores in 3dmark 2k1 with my GTS-V and Duron@ 1 GHz than I did with my Athlon 1.3 and GF2MX.

I just ordered a Leadtek MX-400 SH. So this thing is garbage compared to the Visiontek? I mean, 5fps in Quake III doesn't mean that much. Is the card even more noticeable than that?

What would like my fps difference be for counterstrike or Quake III.

a GF3 whatever is really a GF3,
a GF2 whatever is really a GF2,
a GF2 MX whatever is still a crapped GF2, something like Radeon VE to regular Radeon.

if you missed the $100 Visiontek GF3 Ti200 from Bestbuy,
this $70 exclusive to the US market Visiontek GF2 GTS-V (just lower clock than regular GTS) is the choice for budget card.

32MB or 64MB doesn't have big difference,
sdram is so cheap today, 64MB isn't anything wonderful,
those cheapy SIS305 vga card even put 128MB ram.

my opinions for the cheapest cards in newegg:
GF2 MX400 64M with tv-out $70 - not a good buy unless you must have tv-out
GF2 MX400 32M twinview dual vga with tv-out $100 - ok buy if you want dual vga
GF2 GTS-V 32M no tv-out $70 - the best buy but no tv-out
GF2 GTS 32M with tv-out $100 - if you must have tv-out
GF2 Ti 64M with tv-out $120 - better if you want to spend $20 more
GF3 Ti200 (MSI-8851) $160 - this is a good buy too - vga/dvi but no tv-out
GF3 Ti200 with tv-out $175 - not bad

Austin 316,
Don't worry about your MX card in CS because that card is already a very good performer even at max resolutions

My MX card got upto 100fps in CS and maybe dipping to 60-70fps in regular game play - so don't worry too much about it in CS dude :) I'm assuming you have already changed the max frame rates from the standard 72fps limit?

The GTS-V will be a faster card (higher average frame rates) for sure but not a big deal in CS alone ;)

I only ever played CS before so therefore the MX card was the ideal card to buy - there are reviews here to show it outperforms even a Radeon DDR 64 in CS and that was months ago.

Many people discriminated against the MX but it was not really justified for most users (especially CS players). However, it is currently not the best value choice now that the GTS-V is available.

If it is any consolation my GF2 Pro at Ultra speeds (230/460) "feels" slower using my Duron 700 @ 700 than my GF2MX at 210/230 with my Duron 700 @ 933/1000Mhz.

The speed of your CPU/Memory/FSB seems to have a very large effect on the performance of the video card in my experience.

I'll be back to a 133FSB next week ;)
