Awesome deal, if the rebate comes, this is cheaper than a Newegg refurb Ti200?

very good price, thank you. there are at least 4 good posts this morning for video cards...it makes me wonder whether to buy now, or wait and see if this is the beginning of the great price slide so many have predicted?;)

Micropro has this for $153 + $12 shipping = $165 - $50 rebate = $115

Anyone know how well this card overclocks?

Free shipping makes this an even better deal.

I am very tempted but deterred by the wrath of the wife :) We are supposed to be on a shoe-string budget right now because she is on bed rest. But, I also promised I would build a 2nd PC that she could use because she is going to be working from home after she gets off of bed rest.

This is an excellent deal, just picked one up to pop in a family member's system. I'm personally gonna wait till around April when the Geforce4 Ti4200s are supposed to roll out, which are only $199 and provide performance better then the Geforce3 Ti500s. This Ati Radeon 7000 is killing me though :(

just a heads up, Blue probably wont price match because buy.com already has a price matching policy.

So for those of you with blue, Newegg is still the best place to buy from.

I also noticed that the card only has 5ns ram (anand's gf roundup lists it as 4ns, but everywhere says its 5ns, including toms hardware), while the MSI gf3 ti200 (non tivo) has 4ns memory that can be had for about $145 shipped. So for those who dont want to wait, or want to pay about $20 more (after rebate) for a card that can overclock more, you might want to look into your alternatives.

They are crappy with rebates...at least in my opinion. They told me at first it was b/c they used Post Offices that were anthrax ridden, that it'd be longer wait that the 6-8 weeks. Then I called later and they said b/c of the holidays and "soooo many rebates turned it", it would be until March 28th until it was sent.

Such a run-around...not that that isn't typical of many rebate companies...but it was still very annoying.

There is a huge variance on this card. Some shipped with faster ram than others. Mine craps out at 440 memory, but rocks along at 240+ core, go figure :(

I got my Visiontek GF3Ti200 from Compuplus. $119.95 after rebates (price up $3 since then) and I got it the next day. Mine is overclocked to 240 core/500 memory and has been since Saturday. Everything works perfectly and have had no crashes or lockups thus far, even after repeated 3DMark2001 runs. I don't know what speed the memory is since I don't want to remove the ramsinks. Also, remember that the Visiontek cards carry a lifetime warranty so if it ever goes bad they will repair or replace it.

not to thread crap, but this was taken from F.@tW.@llet, where it has been an ongoing discussion for a couple of weeks now.

as for performance of this card ALL of the review sites i've seen have given the Gainward/Cardexpet GeForce 3 Ti200 64MB Power Pack Golden Sample the title of King over the geforce3 Ti200 cards. most places state that it can easily be overclocked to geforce3 Ti500 speeds. you can pick it up for around $160 shipped (like newegg.com). most places give the visiontek second place rating to the gainward.

i've been debating which card to get... to i go with the $170 card and wait for a $50 rebate, or do i go with the $160 card that can perform like a $300 card??? quite a dilema... you can check out some reviews here and anandtech's review here. there's also tomshardware review.
