This is a bit basic, but I have been looking over the Geforce 3 Ti 200 cards. I am wondering which is better, the PNY card or the Visiontek card.

honestly i didnt know pny made gf3 cards, or vid cards for that matter .. they arent popular .. visiontek is pretty popular and they make the reference design boards for nvidia .. take that for whatever its worth .. im sure some visiontek owners will probably reply to this thread as well .. ..

PNY has made quite a name for themselves recently. They're an American company that had little name recognition until the GF3 Ti's became widespread. Many hobbiests (including myself) were looking for Ti200's because they were in the price/performance "sweet spot." PNY cards were especially affordable, and I believe most PNY owners will echo my positive experiences with the company's products.

Looking at NewEggs web site, I see a couple of things:
The PNY has DVI output, the VT doesnt. Plus for PNY

The PNY has what looks like the nVidia reference HS/Fan which I find to be way too noisy. The VT has a different type of fan. If it is quiet, I'd say Plus for VT

The PNY is $159. The VT is $185. I think PNY wins

True... but they cost less, so what's the catch? Slower memory?
I just ordered one a few days ago and I'm a tad curious.
And BTW, the PNY has a lifetime warranty, whereas I'm fairly certain the VT is limited; that was the part that sold me :p

Nope. The PNY cards ship with 4.0ns Hynix ram or lower. Many people have been able to OC their cards to Ti500 levels...

All the Ti 200 cards are basically the same. Only diff is extra features and the cooling setup. The PNY adds DVI and costs ~ $25 less. Seems like an easy choice to me.

Nope, the easy and smart choice is the Leadtek @ $166.

Leadtek doesn't have a DVI connector either. If there is no plan for a flat panel monitor, it doesn't matter, but its nice to have it just in case.
