visiontek is back

Actually they were one of the, if not biggest company's to push Nvidia products. They did high volume sales. They might not have been the best.... though. I don't remember 6 months ago walking to into best buy and being able to purchase a Gainward video card.

Nice...I'd probably buy a Visiontek 9700Pro or whatever if I didn't already have a ATI one. They were a good value and widely available.

From an Avault article:

"Hartford is honoring all XTASY retail product warranties to consumers who purchased VisionTek retail packaged products in the past and they're continuing to provide toll-free technical support on all current XTASY retail products purchased from VisionTek's retailers."

Take it for what it's worth. 😉

Thats hilarious, they're now powered by ATI, but their entire drivers/support/info section is nVidia for the moment. It just looks funny. Like this [l=press release]http://www.visiontek.com/releases/06_18_02.shtml[/] just 6 months ago about how they're expanding their horizons with more nvidia cards.

That is cool that ATI has another board maker. Visiontek boards were always rated a good buy because of their price/performance ratings. It will be interesting to see more ATI stuff. But for now, my ATI 8500 will have to hold me over a few more months.

Careful, Visiontek has split into two camps. BFG tech and (the new) Visiontek.

Visiontek supposedly had some very good employee's and some very bad ones... I think we need to figure out who went where.

The name is VisionTek because people know that name, the actual people and the whole company is not the same though. The people who took over Visiontek are launching a new range of ATi cards under the Visiontek name because people know/trust Visiontek, so it helps them marketing wise.
The bad employees might have thus been fired by the new owners (we can only hope)
