Visiontek GF3 Ti200 problems

picked up this board from the good best buy deals 🙂
installed it and everything is going fine
i got the newest dets, win2k, tbird 1ghz, abit kt7a
but it seems in quake 3 ... whichever res i always max out at 90fps
at 640x480 i get from 80-90 fps and i get the same in 1024x768 and 1280x1024
when i do a timedemo i get about 100 fps for each resolution. shouldnt i be getting more fps for smaller resolutions? is something holding it down?
 
Display properties, settings, advanced, Geforce 3 Ti 200, additional properties..

3D antialiasing settings / Manually select the antialiasing mode: Select "Off (No antialiasing)"
Direct 3D settings / More Direct3D / Vertical sync mode: Select "Always off"
OpenGL settings / Vertical sync: Select "Always off"
 
Open up .cfg file in base q3 directory in wordpad
find seta com_maxfps
default is set to 85 or 100, reset to "0"
