I'm having a problem very similar to yours with my new VisionTek GeForce 4 Ti4400 I just bought. I just finished building my first computer, but I had to use my old 16mb video card to set up Windows XP and BIOS. Whenever I try to use my Ti4400, the computer boots up, but the BIOS and POST screens are too distorted and unreadable. When Windows XP starts to load, my screen goes completely blank and nothing happens. I have no idea why this is happening. Maybe our cards are defective? Is your monitor really old? My Ti4400 doesn't even work with the new 19" monitor.

might be a power issue...

need plenty of juice for g4 ti series. Check some of the other g4 trouble posts for more info.

After reading many of the past topics about similar issues, I'd say:

A) Your Power Supply can't handle the geforce 4 (test a different one if possible)

Or

B) There is something physically wrong with your card (RMA it).

That seemed to be the case in all the other similar posts.
