I'm thinking of buying the VisionTek GeForce2 MX200 32MB PCI video card for ~$40. I do not have an AGP slot, I have the Intel 810 motherboard. How does this grapics card compare to my onboard video chipset? Is it a few steps up? or money wasted? Or is there some other PCI video card that is a better deal for less than $60. I have Windows XP Pro, 256MB memory, P-III 1GHz.

Thanks

The GF2 MX200 in barely above TNT2 Ultra performance levels in it's AGP form... and the GF2 GPU is heavily dependent upon AGP's advanced feature set. Your looking at performance levels that'll be similar to that of a typical TNT2 board.

Better then the integrated I810 graphics controller, but still not much for anything beyond low res gaming.

If you look around you can find a PCI Radeon 7000 or PCI GF2 MX300 for under $60.
Both are definitely preferable over an MX200.

ENPC has a GF2 MX400 for $48.
NewEgg has a PCI Radeon 7000 for $51.
