Thanks for the input. I picked up 1 last night. Been playing with 3Dmark2001SE and different settings in various games. When I checked out it came up $119 + tax. Woo Hoo. I loaded the ATI Catalyst 3.8 drivers. I am having 1 problem with it. When I play Alien vs Predator 2 the ingame text look like crap. Anyone have any suggestions. I've tried different res, but get the same result. I had AA turned on, but turned it of thinking that would fix it. No such luck. Help.

Never mind I fingered it out. Had to turn off the "smooth screen fonts" option.

You got a great deal. Have fun with it. :) You can generally leave 16x Performance AF on all the time, switching to Quality if nec'y. On top of that, you can either crank the resolution or add AA as you please, depending on the game.

I stopped by the CompUSA (Boston, MA) after work and saw that they had **ONE** on the shelf. It was still marked at $219.95 so I asked the salesperson to check the price. Told him that I heard it was on clearance.

It looks like the price on clearance items is really a discretionary decision between stores and it's not something that's generally told to everyone, even if they work there. Anyway, I told him I heard the price reported was $129.95. He asked his boss if it was OK to let me have it for that price and the guy said SURE. In fact, he told me to go ahead and grab FIVE games out of the bargain bin for FREE. Sure, these were older, junker games like 3d Deer Hunter, Star Wars StarFighter, Serious Sam, etc., but whose to complain if they're FREE?

Bottomline, if you have a CompUSA near you and you want this card, RUN (don't walk) to the store tonight! And don't forget to be polite and ask for the price reduction if the clerk doesn't know what you're talking about.

Now what to do with this card :D I really didn't need it, but at this price, I just couldn't resist. :D

sweet!!! maybe the boss didn't know that a 9500 is better than a 9600. and since the 9600 is prolly priced less than $220, he said y not. maybe he thought the 9500 is marginally beetter than the 9200 . who knows.

I'm in the NE part of Arkansas. The closest CompUSA is in Memphis, TN, only an hour and 1/2 away. I'm tempted to see if they have any, and, if so, would they sale it at this price.
