Are Visioneer scanners any good? I can get a Visioneer 7600 USB scanner for $19.95 after $40 rebate. 36 Bit scanner at 600 x 1200. Will this provide good scans?

I'm pretty happy with mine, just wish it would work under Win2k. Really, for $20 you almost can't go wrong.

I'll be spending the rest of the day trying to ignore the fact that I spent $170 on mine when I bought it. :)

Mine works fine. You can get it to work in 2K but you have to get a newer version of paperport, download the 2k driver (visioneer website), and use the old install disk for a file that it asks for.

I personally use a Canon N656U I like it but I know that Visioneer is a good name since we used them when I was at Gateway.

Interesting, I could have sworn I read on their website that they didn't support Win2k for that model (no drivers available). Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the tip!
