Visioneer Paperport 6.5 Crashing the Computer.

A friend is having a problem with her new scanner and I thought I would try and help her out. Here goes. She just installed a visioneer 6200USB and paperport 6.5. Everytime she tries to load paperport the system crashes. If she uses the button on the scanner it will scan the picture and then load paperport, but trying to just launch paperport freezes the computer. She has tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didnt help. Nothing else is running in the background and other USB devices work fine. Any help would be appreciated
