Hi All,

I've spent the last 75 minutes trying to get BookMark Express installed from my Visioneer 8100 version of the Paperport Install CD.

The readme says,

"BookMark Express
Near the end of the PaperPort installation process, you will see a message asking if you want to install BookMark Express (from BookMarkCentral.com). If you have access to the Internet from your computer, it is recommended that you install BookMark Express. This program integrates with your Web browser and with PaperPort Deluxe directly, providing versatile and useful Web capture and management tools."

This dialogue never appears no matter how many times I reinstall the software.

"Note If you elect not to install BookMark Express when you first install PaperPort Deluxe, you can always install it later. Re-insert the PaperPort CD-ROM. When the master installer window appears, click the ?Other Software? button. In the next screen, click the ?BookMark Express? button, and follow the on-screen instructions. For more information about using BookMark Express features, refer to the BookMark Express QuickStart Guide."

Wrong again. There is no "bookmark Express" button under other software, and no quickstart guide I can find.

I gather this was omitted from the version 7 release, or otherwise how in the world does someone load it?

Replies MUCH appreciated.

I don't think it is included with your OEM version.

BookMark didn't come with my Paperport 6.5 included with my Visioneer 4400 scanner. However, I got the Deluxe Version of Paperport 7.0 at Staples (Clearanced) for $9.98 and it IS included. As I remember, after registering with Visioneer, I got e-mails from Paperport urging the upgrade to get the full features including BM Express.

So you can stop wasting your time. :)

Or, you might check the Paperport site for confirmation (my memory isn't what it used to be).

Thanks for replying, apoppin :)

The 7.0 version is "Deluxe," and the readme says it should be there. This could mean that the scansoft folks are just really careless with their readmes of course...

You're welcome.

OK I have the Paperport Deluxe 7.0 CD here right now in my drive. There are 3 buttons to click on and "exit".

Clicking on "More Software" brings up another screen with "BookMark Express" (Acrobat Reader and Photo Enhancer).

BTW it is a 78.6MB CD. Hope this helps . . .

Thanks, that sounds right.

Mine is a 399 MB CD, "Visioneer 8100." I get IE 6, Textbridge 9, and Adobe Reader 5 when I click on more software.

Unless another CD owner sees something I don't, their readme on this is just wrong. Emailing support is useless, of course.
