Visioneer 8100 Scanner Question

Hahaha

Member
Just got a Visoioneer 8100 scanner. Installed under Windows 2000. Using TWAIN software (Paint Shop Pro) to scan.

Works fine if I switch it on before system boot up. If I switch it off after the system bootup and switch it on again. The system will reconnect the scanner successfully. But when I tried to use Paint Shop to scan, I got a message saying the scanner is not ready. However, the scanner still works if you press the "Scan" button.

What's wrong?

More info:

The OneTouch v3.0 works OK, but when I go through Paperport to Twain and click on Preview or Scan, the following error message comes up. "Please verify you have unlocked the scanner hardware. The lock is located etc." I verify the scanner is unlocked, slide the lock back and forth, then hit OK and then the software refuses to scan or preview. I can then go immediatly to OneTouch and it scans without a hitch.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software as well as the hardware, but the problem remains. (Windows 2000)

Any ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it?

Hey guys, Having a little problem here with my Visioneer 8100, anybody else having this problem?

After install the first scan goes fine, but the second scan I try it goes through the prescan auto crop then about a third of the way into the scan it just stops, locks up and the 3 finger salute dialog box says "not responding". After that nothing. I can uninstall everything and then reinstall it again and the first scan goes well, then the same circus starts all over again...

Tries using the newest drivers from the website too, same problem...

Any Ideas?

Using win98
