if anybody is interested, went to a few local Staples and noticed the 8100 is now priced at $79 with $70 rebate, if you get a printable $10 off coupon then you only pay for tax

Thanks.

Bad_Dude, what is your area code. I also called STAPLES, and confirmed the price of 79.99, but they are all out of stock on line. I went my local store, and purchased one with pricematch and $10 coupon. My final price is $60+tax. Will mail in the rebate and make some money on this. :D

Hmm, I saw a few of these and the Artec (?) scanners in my local Staples last week when I went to get the Maxtor 80GB HD. There was a sign saying $19.99 After Rebate ($60!) for three scanners - Visioneer, Artec and Memorex. But they apparently ran out of the Memorex. Maybe I should check it out again if the rebate is now $70. Already have a Visineer, and sold a Memorex. But if they are free with a coupon, might as well stock up again.:)

send me a blank disc and a sase and i'll copy mine for you.

divxdude,

I got the old Paperport 6 virsion. Is yours Paperport 7? I can download the XP drivers but Paperport 6 is not compatible with XP. If you have the CD with Paperport 7, is it OK to make a copy for me? Thanks.

Interesting, there are actually two concurrent rebate offers on this scanner:

$60 rebate, valid 4/22/02 - 6/29/02

$70 rebate, valid 3/03/02 - 5/30/02

Wonder which one will be printed out at cashier? Both? That might really get interesting...;)

My local B&M has it in stock, but the price is $99.98. Still not a bad deal after the rebate. Would also like to use a coupon (15 off 100?). Has anyone seen these lately?

Paperport is worth the installation. It can organize you photos and other stuff and you can save webpages. It can also be used to fill out forms and other cool stuff.

Wiser007, do a search on pricegrabber.com, you will find several stores sell it for as low as $65.

The 10off40 coupon can be found at FW hotdeal forum.
