(new install on a WD320 drive sata, abit ip35e, q6000)
the install disk has sp4 on it but it didnt see the full drive during cd install.

regedit doesnt show the largelba hkey to modify.

i had this happen on a W2Kpro install, and the unpartitioned area showed up after the sp4 update.

any help would be appreciated.

You need to Manually add the required registry key

To enable 48-bit LBA large-disk support in the registry:

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Atapi\Parameters
3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: EnableBigLba
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 0x1
4. Quit Registry Editor.

thanks bruceb.

all drive capacity visible now.

i had read the reg update notice, but the regedit has changed the edit function. the menu has "new" -> "key" "string" "binary" "dword" values. the no "add value" thing confused me.

weird, it did the lba thing automatically with w2k pro sp4.
