visible holes in car air filter?

OS

so i was at wally's world today and I see Fram has a new line of wannabe k&n filters called "air hogs".

These filters have that problem as many high flow cotton filters, where you when you hold it up to the light, you can see holes in the media. Probably not such a good thing if you like to keep crap out of your engine.

If I had replaced my air filter in the 65,000 miles that I owned my car I would care.

I will let others comment.

People that don't take care of their $15,000+ pieces of equipment not only annoy me, they are stupid.

😛

And yeah, I am sure they flow excellent. 😉 I guess nobody actually cares about filtration anymore.

Filtration =! performance

Sounds like the average quality of a Fram product. I had a nasty problem caused by one of their pcv valves once, how can you screw up a vacuum check ball?

But yeah, I typically clean/reoil my k&n air filters every other oil change. To not change it for 65k miles is economically unsound in more than a couple ways.

??

If you're trying to say that a filter can flow well and also filter well, you would be incorrect. It's common sense physics, people. It's a little more complex than this, but if you have two air filters, both with the same surface area.. one flows more air than the other. Guess which one also filters the worst?

It runs, that's all I care about at the moment. Don't get your panties in a bunch over a piece of metal. 😛

*unknots panties*

😛

But that's not the point. Sure, it runs now.. but what about the future?

Plus, you're certainly lowering your gas milage at least a little. Do you also not change your oil because.. "it seems to be running fine!"? :Q

lol..... :Q

I don't know about you, but my piece of metal costs $20,000.

Uh, in an air filter, filtration is part of its performance.
