Viruses - This is NOT a practical Joke!

Built up my server about a month ago now. Couldnt be bothered to install all the extra little goodies on it, so setup all the foundations and basics for my network so that everything would run. Thought "well ill just leave it like that, it works fine 🙂"

Ok after many different ideas of mine, Felt like installing and configuring apache / php / MySQL & ODBC, and I also decided i was going to install a firewall & Antivirus suite.

Let me make one thing clear, NEVER THINK THAT AN IDLE COMPUTER IS SAFE FROM A VIRUS!

After scanning with newly installed Norton AV I was greeted with the final message after the scan explaining over a QUARTER of my hard drive were viruses :Q :|!

Um, no it doesn't. YOU stink at math. It would take over 5000, not 597 to be 25% of 21149.

Win XP is far better than say 9x! Yes I've seen people do that.

Ya well im sorta waiting for my copy of Win2k Server atm.

All the files were infected with e-mail and general virus worms.

I made the wrong mathematical calculation on purpose <evilgrin>

Guess what, i get home tonight to find that another 2 viruses cropped up.

I dont browse the net on the server or anything at all, and still they manage to find there way on there ? 😕
