Virus stealing dialup ISP info?

A person came into the shop the other night and said that CNN was warning people of a virus that is steailing dialup isp numbers and passwords, then the hacker was using them to dial high dollar services on the internet. I guess it was calling toll numbers for $$$ a minute. Has anyone got any info on this?
 
stuff like that has been around for a long time, i dont see why the media suddenly decides to embrace it. They also have some that steal credit card numbers and paypal passwords. Backdoor trojans can monitor everything you do on your PC.
