Well, I think it's pretty cool that my mid-70's grandparents use the internet. It's not all that cool that I'm fixing something every other week but hey, that's what grandkids are for.
I've run into a bit of a problem though. They use MSN (bad enough) and anytime they're online they immediately have a system shutdown due to an RPC problem. I ran the virus scan, it found W32.klez which I made sure to take quarantine/remove. However, this did not fix the problem.
The virus scan now picks up absolutely nothing. I've run removal tools from symantec on several different things and am now at a complete loss at what to do short of complete format/reinstall.
Does anyone have any ideas?
BTW, the virus program is Nortons with definitions updated to 5/3. I can't update them further because we end up getting knocked off too quickly, and I'm not about to bring their PC home and hook it up to my network for quicker cable modem d/l. This problem has been going on for about a week from what I understand.
