Yep....must be my turn - 2nd post for help in a couple of weeks.

In the office we have an older (compaq DL360) server running Win2K OS (yeah...i know, but it's needed for a few more months due to a vendor program that hasn't been upgraded until recently) and it has been locking up after about 30 minutes of running following a reboot. A NAV scan came back with the 'SafeStrip' infection and when i went to remove entries in the registry based on instructions pulled from a google or microsoft, i forgot which, there were no entries to be found (false positive maybe?). Soooooooooo i did the following and still n/g:

* Installed and ran Malwarebytes both in safe and normal modes - removed 1 infection

* Installed and ran lavasoft's ad-aware in safe and normal modes - removed 5 critical objects

* Ran 'Disk Cleanup' and 'Defragged'

* Installed all new drivers and firmware where available (surprisingly, many drivers, etc. are still available)

Now here's what I noticed:

~ If machine is unplugged from the network (no internet connection) it will not lock up

~ Ppapp.exe runs in Task Manager and uses mucho CPU (only found ppap.exe on google)

~ Ccapp.exe runs in Task Manager and also uses mucho CPU (saw that it is part of NAV and needed - but we have 2 other machines just like this one and they have no problem)

Okay.....so any ideas...suggestions would be highly appreciated....i'm sure everyone knows the impact of having a server down so it's been driving me nuts.
