Virus hits US drone fleet

A computer virus has infected the cockpits of America’s Predator and Reaper drones, logging pilots’ every keystroke as they remotely fly missions over Afghanistan and other warzones.

Military network security specialists aren’t sure whether the virus and its so-called “keylogger” payload were introduced intentionally or by accident; it may be a common piece of malware that just happened to make its way into these sensitive networks.

Damn, somebody get the US military a free copy of malwarebytes, stat.

If it is found out that the Chinese were behind this intrusion would you favor a military strike against a Chinese target? American lives are at stake.

why would you say american lives are at stake?

You dont know anything about this. It seems a odd and very ex-military neocon way of thinking.

Your mind is rotten to the core though. Its expected for you to be full of paranoia.

how under-developed must our information security be to get hacked by something this serious? Come on, use some of that military money to invest into some skilled technicians lol

Sorry. You are right. It is Albanian lives a stake.

Fucking stupid. This is why we dont let the military run the country and have specific rules against any such thing.

It looks like it is JSt0rm's time of month again. He's struggling to put coherent thoughts together and is resorting to "F" this, "F" that, your brain is rotten. Perhaps he has regressed to a pre-high-school age. Hard to tell with him really.

Anyway, I would support response in kind. Identify the threat, and attack using our information security forces.

That's one area we are sorely lacking.

I don't think this requires a physical response.

Really? Not having the military run the government isnt a coherent thought? Seems to be a pretty clear thought and not an original one either.

But yeah lets attack china with armed force because we found viruses on our drones. WW3 over nothing, that will show them. This is what governmentworker777 wanted to do. This was my reason for commenting in this thread. Idiocy.

Seriously? We can't even secure our drones?

Security is extra work for no (obvious/immediate) benefit. The problem isn't the people developing the technology, it's the people evaluating it. Information security is incredibly reactive because no customers care until the lack of security becomes an actual issue.

That's not to say that I think defense contractors aren't a bunch of money grubbing folks, but it's BECAUSE they are money grubbing folks that the military needs to be more careful in evaluating what they by. Just working isn't good enough, things have to work correctly in ALL circumstances.

if it does turn out to be Red China, obviously we dont need to go to WWIII with them over it. However, they should pay some kind of price. Red China is bellicose, belligerent and a de facto enemy of the United States.

No man. Didn't you hear governmentworker777? We need to preemptively attack china to save American lives! This is the mind of a neocon ex-military teahaddist.
