Virus got me, win me that is. How can I delete the retore files??

After cleaning the pc with AVG, about 600 files cannot be removed because they are in the retore directory. The pc is running fine, but avg identifies, but cannot remove or clean then whenever it runs. I removed and reinstalled some software the was bad, but still comes up with the old inactive virus files in the restore directory.

Is there a way to clean out the restore??
