Virtualization, Pacifica and Vanderpool

Heard that AMD and Intel and even IBM are pushing with the so-called virtualization. But there is a slight difference in their implementation. AMD is more on software which they are third party XenSource while Intel and IBM are more on the hardware side.... Which do you think guys are better I dont have any idewa what good will this virtualization will bring us.....
