Virtual Resolution for Nvida boards under XP?

I use to use virtual resolution under win98 with my trusty matrox millenium 2 board. you can pan around the desktop depending on how high you set the virtual resolution, it was cool. Can some body confirm if this is possible with a TNT board under XP, or perhaps a newer nvidia card? and if so, how? which drivers? thanks
