I am not sure what topic this goes under, so I am posting here.
I am trying to set up a box similar to what a web hosting provider would do for a VPS. I am teaching Linux next quarter and want to have a machine that the students can reach from outside our firewall. I used to use UML (user mode linux) but the kernels seem way out of date. Is there a distribution that I am not aware of that people are using for this or is there a newer patch that I haven't seen.....or are they just running vmware?
