Virtual Prairie acting strange

Hey all, I use BOINC manager to run prairie@home and rosetta@home, alternating wus. Recently, each prairie@home wu starts off around 28Mb of RAM usage, but then climbs to 1Gb+ (for each wu, it runs two at a time by default) and both wus climb to 500Mb or so, then one stops and the other goes on to 1Gb+ right before it finishes. Anyone else seeing anything weird like this? I have BOINC set to use 50% RAM when the comp is active, yet it's using almost all of my 2Gb.

I'm using task manager to track RAM usage, and the pagefile goes from 700-800Mb (about what it usually is) to 3.5Gb+ as the RAM usage climbs. It's only been happening with prairie@home.

I did a bit of googling but couldn't come up with anything.

Thanks in advance!

edit: I found a thread on their forums here where people are having similar problems. No fix available yet 🙁

It's a problem with the the Virtual Prairie client itself. It doesn't happen on all of their work units, but it's fairly common. Their client also does not run at Idle priority (it's between Normal and Below Normal in Microsoft's terms), so if CPU usage and/or memory usage are important, you probably shouldn't run this project on any production machines or gaming machines until they tweak it to play nice with others.
