Virtual OS - Can I run an existing partition?

Hi all!
I have a partition with my previous XP install.
I am running my current XP from another partition.
Is there any virtualization software that would allow me to run the existing old system from that partition?
If not, than is there any software that is able to take that partition and creat the needed image file?
I don't need much from that OS, just to be able to run old programs and extract some data. It can be in safe mode for all I care...
And it's a Dell, and I found no way of making the old partition active. Unless maybe I delete all of their partitions.

TIA!

It can be done, but its a tricky process.

This guide may help get you started.

However, if you can't access the partition now, I don't think you're going to have much luck with "virtualizing" it.
