Back in the days of Win 95 and 98 people used to recommend you set your pagefile to 1.5x your system ram, and set both the minimum and max to that amount.
I'm now running winXP and have 512ram. would it make much of a difference to set this manually to 786 or just let windows manage it? Any performance difference?

Think about that... The more RAM you have the more virtual memory you need? I don't think so.

2K & XP have vastly improved memory management, I let windows handle mine.
