Virtual Memory Problems

Okay, I'm running Win2K and I seem to be getting Virtual Memory problems if I leave the computer on for long time (ie a couple of days).

I have 256MB of RAM, and 2 hard drives - master hdd is 20GB, slave is 17GB - I've put the page file on the slave drive. Minimum size at 256MB, Maximum size at 384MB.

When I go out to work I leave the PC on, it's working fine - I'll get home 10 hours or so later and I'll have a "Your system is low on virtual memory" error message on the screen. I dont run any screensavers (I turn the monitor off).

Am I missing something here? Is there problems with having the page file on a slave hdd?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 😀

You shouldn't be having any problems.
But see if switching the swap file over to the master hdd and putting the minimum and maximum at a fixed 256mb helps.

I know that most people say you should use twice your amount of ram but with anything at or above 256 it doesn't really matter.

page file is ok on slave.

Check task manager and see which process(es) is holding large chunk of memory.
