Virtual Memory 5.0

I remember something like this back on my Powerbook 165c where it "doubled" my 4MB of RAM to 8MB. I'm sure I'll remember the name of it at some point, but I don't think that OS7 or whatever I was on had *any* virtual memory built into it, so this made more sense.

Lol... did you guys notice the "32 mb ram and 5 mb HD" requirement at the bottom? 🙂

Wonder how it can "triple" your memory with that...

Never in my life have a seen such a sad bunch of skeptics like you guys. I'm ordering TWO so I can quadruple my memory.

There is no such thing doubling or tripling your memory. It's scam. OP will waste $9.95 and get nothing and being taken advantage of.

Save that $9.95 and buy yourself for 2 lunch meals.

Whew, sure glad you said something, almost bought 3!

I ordered and installed 2 hoping to go from 1 gig to 4.. rats 🙁

so I uninstalled them and my memory went from 1 gig to 256 megs :disgust:

now what??

Didn't there use to be a program that let you use the last 384kb (640-1024) if you had an amazing 1MB of ram when DOS could only use 640kb?

Sorry, I suppose I should have been a little more clear about it.

Struck me as hilarious and I wanted to share with the rest of you guys.

ROFLMAO!

I had QEMM installed and that worked quite well in those times.
It was an extended memory manager. Later Win 3.0 and 3.1 incorporated that idea and win95 perfected it ... and you could use a whopping 4 Mbytes of RAM with win 3.1 (if you could afford it ... )
I still have the Floppy somewhere ... yupp here it is: version 7.5. And QRAM (same company Quarterdeck):

For IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2's and 100% IBM Compatibles. Copyright 1989, 1990 Quarterdeck Office Systems.

BTW: Just saw my win95 floppies: Windows on 13 1.44MBytes floppies, and Microsoft Office on 26 1.44 MByte floppies ... so many floppies, som many memories of feedeing then one at at time and waiting ...

You can re-live that feeling today by installing XP RTM and watching all the updates get installed by Windows Update.
