virtual macine help

Hi

just hoping someone will know the answer to this - i want to run a dvd transcoding/burning software in a win xp pro virtual machine cos the software doesnt seem to work with vista 64bit - so im using 32bit xp as the most compatible - the software works in the virtual machine the only problem is the windows xp "inside" the virtual machine cannot access my dvdrw to make the dvd can anyone help with this ????

i need to get the virtual machine set up so it can access the dvdrw like the host os



virtual machine 2007 + xp pro sp2- running on vista 64

will it capture the host drive if you point it to it?

I believe you can do this with VMware workstation if you give it raw access to the drive.

i cant capture it with virtual machine for some reason - but i can capture my virtual drives??? which are deamon tools created - i will try vmware - thanks for the help

i have set up vmware and it seems to be working ok can detect dvdrw and nero seems like it will use it - starting transcoding and burn now - will let you know what happens incase anyone else has this problem
