Virtual machine running win98 SE...

Hi

I'll soon be building a new gaming PC after not having played more than a few times the last 2 years.

The machine will be running a dual boot configuration of Vista 64 bit and WinXP (the system will have 4GB RAM minimum).
However, I really like to play older study flight sims (very few current ones - I started a thread about that in another forum), and they almost never work without problems in XP let alone in Vista.
I've considered running a tripple boot with Win 98 SE, but I'm quite sure it will be a problem with driver support (Nvidia only support Win 98/ME up to the geforce 6 series).
But what about running Win 98 in a virtual machine under Vista (or XP)? Will this work, or do virtual machines always have problems with getting access to sound and graphics drivers?

Any good suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Virtual Machines wont be able to do 3d graphics, also they are virtual, so they cant use the actual video/sound cards in your PC.

Want to game on 98....buy an old PC

Actually Vmware includes experimental support for DirectX (8?), so some games will work. 3d support will only improve moving forward.

Thank you for the replies.

Having two PCs taking up space is not an option, the flat isn't big enough.

So I'll actually get better results installing wine under linux instead of virtual PC under windows? Kinda funny.
