Virtual dub

I have a DVD rip with audio out of sync (about 2 seconds too fast).
Is there any way to adjust it so it matches with the video?
I have Virtual Dub, but if there are other freeware programs to help adjust I can download them.

Just looking for how to do it, preferably keeping video intact because I don't want to have to re-encode it.

There are some guides to fix sync problems on dvdrhelp.com if you look around a little bit. I think most of them use virtualdub and besweet to fix the problem, but i've never personally done it.
