With the Virtual Desktop Manager that comes with XP, i have "share taskbar" turned off, and would like to know if there is a way I can move windows from one desktop to another without sharing the taskbar.

thanks

sharing has nothing to do with beign able to switch desktops...sharing is the ability to have your programs carry over to other desktops. Which i think defeats the purpose of having multiple desktops in the first place

I don't know much about virtual desktop, but if it is at all possible to have some programs carry over t oother desktops, can it be configured so sertain programs will also carry over to a different users desktop regardless what user is logged in.

Thanks

I'd disagree... an example: I want to have winamp show on every desktop. and probably aim/icq.

program loaded in the taskbar like aim/icq will carry over not matter what option you choose.. program like ie/word/cuteftp will not carry over unless you have the shared desktops clicked.

Cool desk is also another option. does the same thing but allows you to hide the toolbar and just use hotkeys which i like
