Hi just wanted everyones thoughts if I should buy Virtual Channel SDRAM. Its not much more than reg pc133 ram. I was wondering if it gives a good proformance boost. Can it run at PC133, cas2 2-2-2, 4-way interleave? Any bad points for not getting it?

you're going to have to get a via chipset based motherboard to use VC.

but with DDR on the horizon, there is no real point.

DDR is going to blow VC away...

VCSDRAM is faster than PC133 but I wouldn't pay too much for it. You only get like a 5-15% performance boost I believe.

It's sometimes faster than PC133-333, sometimes slower (depends on what apps you're using). But 5-10% slower than PC133-222 RAM. Get those PC133-222 RAM. Believe me!
