virgin olive oil vs. extra virgin olive oil

Extra virgin.

I've got the best olive oil in the world. My greek neighbors give it to me and it comes their own trees back in greece (they have a few thousand).

Picked and then pressed the same day, and canned immediately. Absolutely the freshest richest flavor and least acidic olive oil you could EVAR imagine. The only problem is all my friends and family that try it expect me to be their distributor.

jjsole, you gotta hook me up with some good olive oil... hell, i'll even buy a bottle from your greek neighbors if the price is right.. i love a nice olive oil with some fresh pepper and a loaf of fresh bread.. yum...

extra virgin is the first press, the lesser virgins are second and third presses... extra is the best for salads and bread dipping.. basically to eat straight up... other types are good for cooking

cold pressed olive oil is the better, this is the very 1st pressing of the olives...extra virgin of course

Extra Virgin has a lot more flavor than the cheap stuff. But I'm not a big fan of the rich olive flavor, so I like the mild flavor of the cheap stuff.

I'd consider it if I could habib89, but they refuse to sell it to me and instead want to give me what I want for free. That's great, but as a result I really can't ask them for very much at a time, and already have a few people that I share with.

That's why its a problem when people want me to be their distributor...I don't mind the effort, just the asking of them for more. If I'm able to purchase a lot of it at some point, things may be different.
