I'm looking at the Virgin mobile PayLo and Beyond Talk Plans. I see you have to pay for the phones, but they are cheaper than other "pay as you go" carriers. Also the price they are charging is pretty good (30 bucks a month for 1500 mins). I'm just interested in the talk feature.

I have the former $25 plan with a motorola triumph, does the job...I never have a problem with service, never have dropped calls, I've been all around the country with it. CM7 on the triumph about to get CM9 ICS when the camera works on CM9

They're on Sprint's towers, so if Sprint users get good reception in your area, you're good to go.

I love the low monthly bill, but I head out of town a few times a year, and can't get any service in rural areas. If that's a problem for you, another carrier might serve you better.

I'm thinking of switching to a prepaid plan once I can get out of my t-mo contract with a $50 etf. Don't know whether I'm going to get Virgin Mobile, Straight talk, or the $30 prepaid t-mo and a flip phone with page plus.

Same here. At home/work I'm just fine - driving to my mom's place in the middle of nowhere service gets really spotty.

Customer service sucks. I "lost" (then found) my phone, so I got a new one, and that got me 2 months with no service.

Great Virgin employees in India didn't once send me a status update until it was fixed. I called 10 times and they just kept saying they'll "forward it to technical services"... Still with them because I'm too lazy to change, but that incident really pissed me off.
