Virgin 5GB MP3 Player 3rd party firmware?

This is kind of a long shot, but since a bunch of us went in for the virgin 5gb player when it was on sale at compgeeks, i thought i'd ask.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party firmware for the 5gb that would fix the music erasing and other problems? Is it possible to install firmware for a different mp3 player? Or, does any wonderful and brilliant soul want to endeavor to write firmware for it?

I'm guessing the answers are no, no, and no. Hate to ask the obvious, but have you googled for it?

The only MP3 players that have firmware hacks IIRC are the iPods.

yeah, i did... haven't found anything yet. Is it actually possible to use a different player's firmware in it? That's the best suggestion i found online so far. mostly just people saying "man i wish they would update it"
